Julie (Fruci Fit Coach) says to me at the weekend whilst we were working in a coffee shop…
I confusingly reply: “why?”
To which Julie says
“You have more willpower”
Staring at the food counter as her view
Compared to my view which was a retail unit to let (with leisure as an option I should add, if we ever take Fruci Fit to Manchester haha).
My point here?
Your environment matters..
Julie is there with a view of delicious food..
I am then with a view of empty shops and retail units with leisure planning permission in Manchester
^^ We were in Manchester for Hyrox where many of the Fruci Fit ladies, and myself and Julie, were there, challenging comfort zones and -dare I say it – having some fun…If you don’t know what Hyrox is? The amazing Pip and Mary were on BBC Points West last week talking about how they did it recently and even got an invite to the World Championships for their age category being in their 60s and 70s (check it out here https://youtu.be/3sl7m-Nh0z4?si=akwLB3mdYODKQTkB )
So my challenge to you today?
Create an environment that works FOR YOU…
→ Put the toaster away in the cupboard (keeping it out makes you think of….toast)
→ Take your lunch rather than go to the shops (there WILL be temptations)
→ Have a glass of water within arms reach
→ Don’t leave food out on the side other than a fruit bowl (you have to make a YES or NO decision every time you walk past it otherwise)
→ Don’t walk into kitchen after a long day hungry – pack an apple with you to have before you come in and / or go for a walk to wind down FIRST
I could go on..
Pick ONE and do it..
Consistently and for longer than you think you need to…
(I know that’s not what you wanted to hear but the great thing about this is that you might just get results doing less than you think you need to because you actually stick to it….rather than waiting for the perfect time, which means that you don’t get started..and even if you do, the things you are doing work when things are ‘perfect’ which probably won’t last..)
