“Right, up to bed then” I say to the kids…
‘Brush your teeth then we will do some reading then we will do some playing’
^^ playing can involve ‘stink house’ which is where I chase them with a duvet over my head and catch them, the bunny game which is where they hide under the duvet and I am the fox who has to catch them , or a disco which is simply music and dance moves (great to get my steps in)
The problem here?
Rather than focussing on one thing…
One goes to get their reading books whilst the other brushes their teeth…
One says ‘ I am ready to read’ the other says ‘I am first’, then they start playing whilst brushing their teeth and not really brushing their teeth. I could go on.
My point?
The hardest part here is focussing on ONE thing.
As I say to them, concentrate on brushing your teeth, then the quicker we read and do some playing…
And it is the same when it comes to health and fitness…
It is easy to get distracted…
Mainly because you wonder if you COULD get better results doing XYZ…
Forgetting that you just need to take action TODAY…
You probably don’t need a new plan..
You need to execute the plan you have
For a little bit longer
And more consistently
^^ read that again..
And if that means stepping up some accountability << tell a friend, buddy up, peer group, like minded people (like we do at Fruci Fit)…
Then do that.
But know that if nothing changes..
Nothing changes..
A new machine, the best equipment..
A new shiny supplement..
Means nothing unless you are consistent and persistent for long enough to see the results you want..
As that is when the magic happens..
