“I don’t want to [insert something kid doesn’t want to do]”

They say you learn a lot from kids..

And in my experience..

If just simply TELL them to do everything with no explanation..

They rarely want to do it..

But just like I do myself to help me do the things I know I need to do (even if I cannot be bothered to do it)

These two powerful questions can completely change things

For my motivation (and even my 5 and 7 year old kids)…

How will you feel after you do it?

You know the feeling after you do that workout, exercise, walk, run, project you kept putting off..

“I did that, I made that happen”

The sense of achievement.

The dopamine hit 🙂

I could go on..

How will you feel if you DO NOT do it

You know the feeling when you didnt get it done?

Resenting those around you for taking your time (even though we could have done something but it is easier to blame)

A bit short with loved ones ..

Tired

Low on energy

Regret

Beating ourselves up.

I could go on…

Either way.

We are adults right?

Every decision we make has benefits or consequences.

The key?

Bringing these benefits and consequences to the front of your mind.
