Scales getting you down? Don’t forget this

Got this message last week:

A nice reminder of the non scale victories that happen INDEPENDENT of whether scales are moving as fast as you like.

And I get you might want the scales to move. 

We can work on that.

But the amazing thing about being stronger and having ‘well developed’ muscles?

Well, this is all associated with:

→ Independence as we age

→ Better quality of life

→ Reduced risk of disease

→ Better blood sugar control

And of course FAT LOSS..

And I quote (Journal Of Physiology, Wackerhage et al) 

“Global skeletal muscle hypertrophy has anti-obesity and anti-diabetic effects. 

Conversely, global skeletal muscle atrophy results in fat gain and worsens glucose homeostasis. 

This suggests that interventions that increase skeletal muscle mass or prevent atrophy such as hypertrophy-focused resistance training are not just aesthetic but have metabolic benefits that could be clinically meaningful treatments for billions of women and men who are overweight, or with obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus.”

What this means?

Well, if you try to build some muscle?

In turn, this reduces the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes

And can help better control your blood sugar levels.

So even if the scales are not showing the right way today?

Keep going

It is all feedback.

And I can tell you now with 100% certainty..

Giving up will not take you closer to your goal..
