“I didn’t go as far as I wouldn have liked”
“The blisters are getting bad”
“Should i change footwear now or will it be too late?”
“Will this work?”
^^^ all thoughts running through my head when on a walk the other day training for a walk I am doing.
Now, these all look quite negative, right?
And it is easy to go into that negative state…
I get it.
In fact, I spoke about this more here
So here are 2 questions to ask when you go into this “all or nothing mode”
Where you think:
“it’s pointless”
“it’s not working “
“I’ve failed”
1) What has worked well?
And before you say ‘nothing’
I speak to people so often who are frustrated with the scales
Yet
Have more energy
Have actually exercised more consistently than ever
Feel fitter
No longer out of breath climbing stairs
Trousers are feeling looser
I could go on.
Sure, they want to see the scales come down.
But we know the scales are only ONE measure here.
Don’t forget they can fluctuate 2-4lbs daily.
Not to mention how muscle and exercise impacts them
As well as menstrual cycle, leading to the conclusion that comparing
Your Week 1 weight to your next Week 1 weight of a cycle
Is more accurate than comparing your Week 1 weight with your weight in Week 3.
More on this another day
2) Knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?
Because there is never a ‘pointless’ experience.
It might be painful
disappointing..
But there will always be lessons
And taking these on is key..
Maybe you have followed a plan and not lost weight?
Well, what is one thing you could tweak this week?
As we are about to enter a really exciting change.
Where you can get transformational results.
Giving up now?
Will take you straight back to square one.
Matt
