Why is it just for women 40+?

Sorry to go on…

I was having a chat with one of the ladies who’s about to get started on our Kickstart programme the other day…

And she asked me ‘why is this just for women 40+?’..

We get it a lot actually.

So I apologise if I go on

As this is something we are super passionate about. 

It’s why we are where we are today at Fruci Fit. 

It brings me back to how we first started. 

You see, I used to just do personal training…

Mainly in commercial gyms and hotel gyms. 

You know, train people in a gym, do some food plans…that was it.

Until I started seeing that a few of the ladies I worked with said that they would never do this on their own without me in the gym…

Sure, they would go to the gym.

But never felt comfortable in the weights area with all the 20 year olds throwing weighs around…


Would never feel comfortable asking for help from the staff (even if they asked them for help)

So they would just stick to the boring stuff they already knew.

Cross trainer 

And bike …

Maybe a few machines. 

And it got me then doing programmes that the ladies could do at home and with minimal equipment.

After all, Fruci Fit is about focussing on what you CAN do and what fits your lifestyle. 

It was no longer something they had to do with loads of equipment in an intimidating gym…

When you feel everyone is looking at you…

Where they would worry ‘I will be the most unfit’

‘I will look silly’

‘I’ll be too big’…

And this was when I knew I had to do something about it 

when one of the ladies actually had a panic attack in a gym we were in..

She didn’t feel comfortable so we started training in her home…

Her friend then wanted to do it with her and…

That was it..

I decided to launch a programme specifically for ladies over 40…

So the intensity, 




Can all be bespoke for you..

I count myself as very fortunate that throughout lockdown we were still able to

Deliver our live sessions from  home (which we still do now as it is perfect for women who struggle for time or feel more comfortable doing the exercise part from home rather than coming in) 

Then our outside classes (which we still do now) 

Before being back at the studio for our open ‘Workout of the day’ personal training sessions…

And now back to what seems to be quite

Dare I say it

Normal (whatever that is, these days) ..

With sessions every day

Be it from home or 

In our ladies only private studios in Marlborough, Chippenham and Devizes. 

I remember back in 2014 when we first started our ladies only programmes…

No kids at the time..

Had just got married…

And when personal training a woman in a gym 

She felt like everyone was looking at her.

That was when she had a panic attack..

And I just had this vision to create the best ladies only programme in Wiltshire [specifically for women over 40]..

I wanted to make it non-intimidating

Somewhere that people who never thought they could find somewhere comfortable to get fit and heathy could go.

And find themselves surprising themselves by actually sticking to it.

For ladies to make friends, not be judged, speak to expert trainers, nutritionists, dietitians, yoga teachers

And get amazing results.

To become stronger – physically and mentally

More confident. 

To overcome adversity..

Going from mobility scooter to running 5K and beyond.

Her initial goal was to walk her kids to school. 

And this was the moment, I knew we could do more as an industry. 

The health and fitness industry is amazing. 

But so often do I see – as someone who once was the 20 year old lifting weights in a commercial gym – that there is just that lack of help, support, and personalisation for those that need it most. 

And for the past 7 years or so 

Fruci Fit surpassed what I could ever have imagined…

We have an amazing team. 

With coaches that I learn from every day.

All bringing something different for the ladies. 

I absolutely love my work

And I still love delivering our live home workouts, outside classes, small group and personal training sessions to all of our members 

But the key part?

^^ and something that the research keeps showing us time and time again

None of this is good without people…

Without our amazing community. 

Speaking of which, we are all gearing up for our Christmas meals out starting with Marlborough on Friday.

Then Chippenham and then Devizes.

(more on how I am managing all these meals out another day haha)

Writing these emails are meant to inspire you to become fitter and healthier…

In fact, this goes to around 5000 women  in Wiltshire …

I actually find them therapeutic to write. 

This one especially..

The reason this is only for Wiltshire ladies 40+…

Is because:

1- Support and community is a big part of this to help you stay motivated and confident that you do not have to do this alone

2- It allows me to make everything more bespoke for you (a woman over 40 wouldn’t do the same thing as a 20 year old guy…)

3- This includes the nutrition and fitness, taking into account injuries, joint issues, diets you’ve tried before, menopause and more
