Smallest & fittest I’ve ever been

Got this message from Theresa last week when going over 2022 wins and goals for 2023 (see image)

And I will repeat what I said yesterday:

The secret is IMPERFECT action.

There were days

Many days 

Where Theresa would simply focus on small, 1 minute workouts throughout the day, around work.

It’s not easy, but it is simple and you can do this.

Here are 4 things you can do:

  1. Weigh daily – may seem odd, but weighing weekly is a sure fire way to get emotionally attached to the scales. It is what you do on average that counts. By weighing daily, you can add them all up and divide by 7 at the end of the week to give you an average. This allows to see compare weekly averages rather than daily fluctuations
  2. Every day is Day 1 – if you feel like you have ‘messed up the week’, remember that every day is Day 1. The shorter the gap between you dwelling on what you should have done and getting back to it? The better your results. It is what you do on average that counts. 
  3. Break your day into 4 parts – Morning, lunch, afternoon and evening. Mess up the morning? Let’s win lunchtime. Mess up your lunch? Let’s win the afternoon? Feel like today is a right off? Let’s win the evening. There is a lot to be said for being 2-0 down at lunchtime and then turning the day on it’s head and drawing 2-2 by being in control and choosing to make the choices that will take you closer to where you want to be in the afternoon and evening. 
  4. Remember you GET to do this – exercise and nourishing your body with good food with healthy portions to be strong, fit and lean is actually one of the best forms of self care you can do – from reducing your risk of diseases, to improving mobility and quality of life.
