Was the response of one of the ladies last week when I was telling her how the floor of our bathroom is a bit like swimming pool after our kids have had a bath 😂😂😂
And it reminded me of just how much we (me included) assume that everyone else has their $#*! together…
Like no one else would finish the box of chocolates that your other half waved in your face..
Like no one else nips in to the shops on the way home from work without a clue what they’re having for dinner
Like no one else finds it difficult to fit in exercise
Like no one else ever wakes up wondering if they can’t be a$$ed today (and just want to curl up with a duvet)
Like no one else has piles of washing to do (the joys the other night when we had EMPTY washing baskets for about 20 minutes haha)
Like no one else has a messy tupperware cupboard with odd lids (don’t get me started with this one..)
Like no one else ever feels like they are their biggest obstacle…
Maybe you leave social situations and wonder ‘Why can’t I be as confident as them?’
The problem with all of this?
Most of your energy goes on putting yourself down…
All from a thought – which you cannot say is 100% true – that you choose to believe, regardless . ..
And you know the most interesting part?
Everyone else is probably thinking the same about you…
You see, when you or anyone starts doing something and then makes it a habit…
You actually create a new problem…
A problem in that you now don’t give yourself any credit for the doing something that would once take willpower and a ton of motivation..
A bit like one of the ladies on our Kickstart Programme mentioned last week:
“I can’t believe I’m actually still doing this. Even my husband can’t quite believe it. The difference in how I feel and my energy when I don’t do the sessions is really noticeable”
And its why one of our tasks is – at the very least – to share your 3 biggest wins of the week…
To remind yourself that you are doing OK…
To quieten down the part of your brain that self sabotages everything for you…
Try it today. Just write down one thing you have done well this week…
Here’s how I do it:
Win: I got to bed before 1015
Why is this a win: It means I have more energy the next day, helps me make better food choices, better mood, better to be around, more productive with work, more time with my family, more energy to invest in being a better coach, higher job satisfaction…
Further progression: Make sure I turn off my laptop at 9pm so I am in rested, relaxed and in bed for 1015
See how powerful that can be for your mood, how you feel, your energy, what you think, what you do and the results you get, be it with your health, body or mindset…
Here are just some of the wins from last week in the image attached.
Matt
PS. Our 5 Day FREE kickstart begins Monday 24th October, specifically for women wh pretty much know what to do but want the support and accountability to do it..
