Not how I planned to get down those steps

So on Christmas Day we headed out for a walk to the beach in Cornwall. Fresh air, kids full of energy.

Nice and steady… until it wasn’t.

With my knee still in prehab (ACL, lateral and medial meniscus, the full alphabet), the path got steeper… then muddier… then slippier.

And then came the final steps.

Steep. Busy. Wet.

Railings? Broken.

At that point I had an audience and two choices:

Go back up (absolutely not),

or get creative.

So there I was…

Instead of using crutches and trying not to slip…

I went for the crab-walk down the steps.

Using arms, heels, and some glutes I was suddenly VERY thankful for.

Not elegant.

But it worked.

And it really reminded me why we train.

Not to look good doing exercises.

But so we can:

  • Get up and down from the floor
  • Feel steady on uneven ground
  • Keep up with kids and grandkids
  • Do the walks, trips, holidays and everyday stuff… without worrying

And focus on what we can do! It’s about being able to say yes to life.

Like we focus on in our January 28 Day Kickstart.

Specifically for women 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+ and beyond who pretty much know what to do but need the accountability and plan to do it.

If you want more info, just message me with “kickstart”.
