Overheard on the High Street 🤫

Overheard on the High Street 🤫

You’ll never guess what she said 🤫

I better not tell you…

No I just can’t.

Oh ..

Oh go on then.

But you can’t tell anyone?

Deal?

Ok, I joke.

I haven’t got any hot gossip…

But what I have been hearing on the high street:

“How many steps have you done?”

Now, it could be me choosing to listen to what I want to hear.

I mean, ever since we changed our car to a Mini..

I see Mini’s everywhere 😂

Anyway,

It’s great that there’s more interest than ever in being active aka steps.

Our watches

Phones

And probably trainers soon

tell us how many steps we have done…

But I get

That it can be disheartening when you hear stuff about how 10000 steps might be associated with

Reduced risk of

✅ heart disease

✅ Type 2 Diabetes

And improvements in mental health.

Yet,

You’re struggling for time

Too busy with work

Or perhaps you have joint issues and all that walking just flares things up.

Either way.

I get it.

And I was chatting to one of the ladies on our Summer Shape Up programme the other day.

Who mentioned that she can’t get her steps up with her working hours and then family life in the evening.

The solution?

We did a squat count instead.

Instead of trying to 10000 steps

And feeling dishearted as she couldn’t do it.

She now tracks how many squats she can get done in a day.

Not only do I love this from a practical perspective

(I mean, you don’t need any fancy shoes or equipment)

But also from a muscle strengthening perspective.

And don’t think you have to go too low.

In fact, if you struggle with knowing how to do a squat.

Message me back with “squat”

And I’ll send over a demo video showing you how (with adaptations)

Matt
